The Wall, the half-size replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be on public display from the evening of Thursday, Sept. 28 to late afternoon Sunday, Oct. 1 near the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion in Des Plaines. The display is being hosted by Des Plaines VFW Post 2992 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 311. It will be transported from the McHenry VFW Post along Northwest Highway to Mount Prospect Road where it will eventually make its way to Lake Park near Lee Street and Touhy Avenue. The display will also feature an Education Center. The motorcyclists and police escort will take place on Sept. 28th along Northwest Highway (U.S. Route 14).
