The Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table

The Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table will meet at 7:30 p.m. May 11 at the Vietnam Veterans of America, Michael J. Novosel MOH Chapter 542, 8000 Derry St., Harrisburg.

Following a brief business meeting, John D. Laskowski from Carsonville, Pennsylvania, will discuss his Vietnam experiences as an Aircrew Radioman (USN-ATR-2) with Airborne Early Warning Squadron 1 (VW-1), Agana, Guam, for weather reconnaissance and radar surveillance of the Pacific Theater.

Laskowski graduated from Upper Dauphin High School, Elizabethville, in 1964 and then attended Millersville College from 1964-67. Drafted as a senior in 1967, he entered the Navy on June 6, 1967. He served with the Pacific Missile Range at Point Mugu, Californi,a from 1967-69, then transferred to Airborne Early Warning Squadron One (VW-1) from 1969-71. He flew 17 deployment missions with the VW-1 detachment out of the Danang Airbase for radar surveillance of the Gulf of Tonkin when not flying typhoon surveillance flights.
