Redondo Beach will observe Memorial Day 2022 at the Veterans Memorial in beautiful
Veterans Park by the Redondo Pier. The ceremony will begin at 1PM on Monday,
30 May. The event will include reflection and remembrances, commentary and
honors to all those who lost their lives, paying the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Keynote speaker is Captain Rebecca E. Ore, United States Coast Guard.
Capt. Ore is Captain of the Port and the commander of Sector
Los Angeles / Long Beach at Terminal Island, San Pedro.
Local elected officials and military dignitaries will participate.
A veteran from the community will be presented the flag from the Memorial during the service.
Music will be provided by the Redondo Beach Union High School Winds Ensemble
with school Music Director, Raymundo Vizcarra.
The Coastal Naval Sea Cadets, Redondo High Marine Corps Junior ROTC
and the Scouts are supporting the service.
Donations and contributions are still being accepted for the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial.

The event will be followed by a BBQ hosted by the Redondo Elks Lodge # 1378
in the Elks parking lots south of their building adjacent to Veterans Park.
The BBQ is free to all veterans and members of the military, police officers, firefighters…..
A $5 dollar donation from all others.
Memorial Day in Redondo Beach is open to the public. Media invited.
