Denver’s Memorial Day ceremony will begin with its traditional parade forming behind the fire hall at 9 a.m. Residents and organizations interested in participating in the Memorial Day Parade are encouraged to decorate a bicycle, wagon, or float to honor our country. The Dixieland Band will be featured along with local firetrucks, the Friendly Horseman Club and anyone else who participates. The parade will travel on North Fourth Street to Walnut Street, and then turn west on Walnut Street to the bandstand in the Denver Memorial Park for the service. Borough council member Todd Stewart will be the emcee. The traditional program will continue at the memorial, with Taps being played.
A Memorial Day service will be held in the grove at Peace UCC, 37 E. Swartzville Road, (Route 897), Denver. The 11 a.m. service will be led by Pastor Betsy Bruaw. The service will include recognition of the flag, a history of memorial services in the U.S., as well as singing the national anthem.
